Element RC Enduro Trailwalker Portal Plus

Stock is as the vehicle ships. Calculated is worked from the stock figures on this page rather than stored beside them, so the two cannot drift apart. Not applicable means the vehicle does not come with it, like the motor on a roller or the tires on a race kit, or does not have one, like a KV rating on a brushed motor. Not published means it exists but no source we could find prints it.

Gearing parts

Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above. Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close. Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft. Linked part numbers go to the maker's or official distributor's page for that part.

How these numbers were settled

Element's spec table prints 'Internal Gear Ratio: varies' because the Stealth X gearbox turns the front and rear axles at different speeds, so the transmission and axle ratio and the final drive are left blank.

• The manual names an 18T 48P pinion (#1336) and an 87T 48P spur (#9654), a fixed 20T-28T-52T front train with the 27T-53T rear pair fitted (5.7% front overdrive), 30T/8T ring and pinion gears, and 15T and 20T portal gears (#42372).
• Worked out from those tooth counts, the total reduction is about 62.8:1 at the front and 66.4:1 at the rear, including a 1.33:1 portal reduction; the included 26T-54T rear pair (11.83% overdrive) gives about 70.3:1 at the rear.
• The manual does not say which portal gear drives; the 15T driving the 20T fits its note that the portal axles add torque.
• The manual's gearbox step marks the pinion and its set screw 'Not Included', although the truck is sold ready to run with the motor fitted.
• The 1.9 x 4.65 in General Grabber X3 tire size comes from Element's product page.
• The 14-turn 5-slot motor is brushed, so KV does not apply.
• Element does not publish a battery rating for the RX-21 ESC/receiver, so the cell limit is left blank.
