Element RC Enduro Trailwalker 4x4 (2019)

Gearing parts

Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above. Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close. Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft. How these numbers were settled

This is the original 2019 Trailwalker on 1.55 in wheels; the later Trailwalker Black (40119) runs 1.9 in wheels and larger tires.

• Element's spec table prints 'Internal Gear Ratio: varies' because the Stealth X gearbox turns the front and rear axles at different speeds, so the transmission and axle ratio and the final drive are left blank.
• The manual names an 18T 48P pinion (#1336) and an 87T 48P spur (#9654), a fixed 20T-28T-52T front train with the 27T-53T rear pair fitted (5.7% front overdrive), and 30T/8T ring and pinion gears in both axles.
• Worked out from those tooth counts, the total reduction is about 47.1:1 at the front and 49.8:1 at the rear; the included 26T-54T rear pair (11.83% overdrive) gives about 52.7:1 at the rear.
• The manual fits General Grabber A/T X tires (#42107); its parts list and Element's part page give them as 1.55 x 3.85 in diameter, and Element's comparison chart agrees.
• The manual's feature list prints 1.9 x 4.65 in for these tires beside 1.55 in beadlock wheels, which does not match the parts it fits, so the 3.85 in figure is used.
• The 16-turn 5-slot motor is brushed, so KV does not apply; the manual rates the Reedy SC400X ESC for 2S-3S LiPo.
• The LiPo Combo (40101C) is the same truck with a Reedy battery and charger.
