Tamiya's TT-02B MS is a 1/10 four-wheel-drive, shaft-driven buggy kit with uprated drivetrain parts, sold with a body but without tires or motor.

A 17T pinion on the 70T spur works through the 2.60:1 gearbox and axle stage for a 10.71:1 final drive on a 266 mm wheelbase. Measure the tires you fit and enter that size in the gearing tool before you pick a faster pinion.

Pinion The small gear on the motor shaft. Fewer teeth gear the car shorter: quicker acceleration, lower top speed and a cooler motor. More teeth do the opposite. On this car one tooth changes the gearing by about 5.9%. Racers change the pinion to suit the track and the class's motor rules, and often compare setups by rollout rather than tooth count. Uprated TT-02B buggy kit with metal drive shafts, an aluminium propeller shaft and aluminium rear uprights with two toe settings; body and wing are included, the motor, speed controller and tires are not.

The pinion, spur and stage after the spur are derived from it with the TT-02B's 70T spur and 2.6: (70/17) x 2.6 = 10.706.
