How these numbers were settled
Axial's own product page (AXI03006B) publishes a 14T pinion, 40T spur, final drive '45.6:1 Low / 31.3:1 High', 3S/2S LiPo compatibility, a brushed 540-size motor and 'AR45 portal axles'.
- The Low-range 45.6 is used as the stock ratio.
- The 15.96 transmission and axle ratio is back-calculated as final drive / (spur/pinion), so it already includes the portal reduction.
- The portal reduction itself (1.92, from a 23T/12T portal gearset) is not from Axial, which does not publish the portal tooth count for this SKU.
- It is inferred from two independent aftermarket listings that both describe 23T/12T as the standard Axial portal gearset for AR45/SCX10 III portals: KeyCityHobby's portal gear set page and Incision's 'Portal Standard Gear Set (12/23)'.
- Because that one figure is vendor-sourced rather than manufacturer-published, the whole vehicle is graded community-sourced, even though pinion, spur, final drive, LiPo and motor type come from Axial's own page.
- The stock motor is a brushed 35T can with no published KV, so KV does not apply.
- No published outer diameter was found for the stock 1.9 Nitto Trail Grappler 4.74 Wide M/T tire (AXI43010) on any retailer or Axial page checked, so the tire diameter is left blank rather than guessed.
- It differs from the straight-axle SCX10 III trims (Base Camp, Early Bronco, Wrangler Rubicon) by its AR45 portal axles, which multiply the final drive by roughly 1.9x at the vendor-sourced tooth count.
