Axial SCX10 III Motobilt Waypoint Jeep JT Gladiator

Derived is worked out from gear tooth counts the maker publishes rather than printed as a ratio; the notes below say how. Not published means it exists but no source we could find prints it.

Gearing parts

Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above. Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close. Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft. Linked part numbers go to the maker's or official distributor's page for that part.

How these numbers were settled

The Motobilt Waypoint Gladiator runs AR45 straight axles, not portals: Axial's product page lists AR45 straight axles, and the manual's parts list and exploded view name the AR45 Straight Axles (AXI-3839) with no portal parts.

• The manual's gear ratio chart for the LCXU transmission (p. 10) marks the 14T pinion as the default and the standard axles as stock, and gives 39.2:1 for that pair, which is kept as the final drive.
• Axial's spec table, on its own page and at Horizon Hobby, lists a 'Final Drive Ratio' of 47.20 and an 'Internal Gear Ratio' of 11.80, but 47.2 is the chart's figure for the optional portal axles with the 14T pinion, so those two figures are not used.
• The 9.80 transmission and axle ratio is worked out from the chart as 39.2 times 14/56, and every cell of the chart's standard axle row matches the 56T spur times 9.80 over the pinion.
• Both axles use the 6-bolt gear set AXI232003, a 30T ring gear and an 8T pinion (3.75:1); Axial does not publish the tooth counts of the LCXU transmission gears, so the transmission stage on its own is not confirmed.
• The manual's exploded view shows the 14T 32P steel pinion AXIC0725 on the 35T motor and the 56T 32P spur AXI232065.
• The tire diameter is the 4.9 in (124 mm) height printed for the stock Pro-Line Maxxis Trepador G8 1.9 tire (PRO1022714).
• Axial gives the weight as 6.7 lbs (3.02 kg) without battery, and the 3.02 kg figure is kept.
• The battery connector is IC3; the spec table's maximum battery size of 138 x 46 x 35 carries no unit, so it is left blank.
• The spec table gives 'Oil Type & Content' as 35 with no unit and the manual names no shock oil, so the shock oil is left blank.
• Both axles carry a 6-bolt differential locker (AXI232002), so there is no diff oil.
• The brushed motor has no KV, and the Firma 40A ESC is rated for 2S to 3S LiPo.
• Axial does not publish the motor's shaft diameter or a top speed.
