About Axial

What it stands for

Axial's motto is "WE. BUILD. ADVENTURE." and it says it "has been building adventure ever since" its founding.1,10 It credits itself with taking rock crawling "from what some felt was a flash-in-the-pan trend to a long-lasting mainstream segment," and calls its 2007 AX10 "the first purpose-built rock crawler that delivered great looks, high performance, and durability."1,5

Known for

The first SCX10 created the 1.9 inch trail truck class and became its standard, drawing other makers into it over a run of more than six years.11 Axial followed it with the SCX10 II in 2016 and later the SCX10 III, and in 2019 took the same idea down to 1/24 scale with the SCX24.7,8

Product portfolio

Every Axial model is a four-wheel-drive crawler, and nearly all come ready to run, with the SCX10 III Wrangler Rubicon sold as a kit without electronics. Scales run from the 1/30 SCX30 and 1/24 SCX24 and AX24 through the 1/18 UTB18 Capra and 1/10 SCX10 II and SCX10 III to the 1/8 AXP8 Gilamon and 1/6 SCX6. Most carry licensed bodies from Jeep, Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge and Toyota. Brushed motors power most of the range; the SCX6, the RBX10 Ryft rock bouncer and the Yeti rock racer run brushless. The UTB10 and UTB18 Capra 4WS and the AX24 offer four-wheel steering.
