Gearing parts

Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above. Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close. Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft. How these numbers were settled

The XJ runs AR45 straight axles, not portals: Axial's product page lists AR45 standard straight axles and the manual's parts list names the AR45 Straight Axles (AXI-3839).

• Axial's spec table lists a 14T pinion, a 56T spur, a 'Final Drive Ratio' of 9.80 and a 'Roll Out' of 39.22.
• The pinion and spur alone give 4:1 and the axle gear set (AXI232003) is a 30T ring gear and an 8T pinion, 3.75:1, so 9.80 cannot be the complete ratio.
• The 9.80 figure is kept as the transmission and axle ratio, and 39.22, which is 56/14 times 9.80, as the final drive.
• Axial does not publish the tooth counts of the LCXU transmission gears, so the transmission stage on its own is not confirmed.
• The manual's exploded view shows the 14T 32P pinion AXIC0725 on the 35T motor and the 56T 32P spur AXI232065.
• The tire diameter is the 4.75 in height Pro-Line prints for the stock BFGoodrich Krawler T/A KX tire (PRO1013603).
• Shock oil is the 35wt silicone oil (TLR74008) in the manual's parts list; Axial's spec table gives 'Oil Type & Content' as 35 with no unit.
• Both axles carry a differential locker, so there is no diff oil.
• The brushed motor has no KV, and the Firma 40A ESC is rated for 2S to 3S LiPo.
• Axial does not publish a weight or the motor's shaft diameter.
