Traxxas Ford Raptor R 4X4 Ultimate

Stock is as the vehicle ships. Calculated is worked from the stock figures on this page rather than stored beside them, so the two cannot drift apart. The top speed is kinematic: an ideal no-load RPM with no slip and no loss under load, so a real car is slower. The maker advertises 60 mph, which is their own claim on their own conditions.

Gearing parts

Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above. Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close. Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft (5 mm on the stock motor). How these numbers were settled

The owner's manual gear chart (p. 28) marks the 20T pinion on the 54T center-diff spur, 7.68, as the out-of-box setup, worked as spur / pinion x 2.85; the product page prints no gear ratio.

• The parts list sets the 20-tooth pinion (5646, 5mm bore) and the 54-tooth steel spur (3956X) in regular type as stock, and both part pages list this truck as a stock fitment.
• The parts list describes both gears as 0.8 metric pitch, compatible with 32-pitch, while the part pages call them 32-pitch, so the pitch is left blank.
• The tire diameter is the 4.5 in that Traxxas prints for the stock BFGoodrich KO2 tire (10181), converted to 114.3mm.
• With the 540XL 2400Kv motor on a 4-cell LiPo these figures work out to about 62 mph, which fits Traxxas's 60+ mph claim with a 4s LiPo.
• The manual's gearing text mentions an included large pinion, but its chart marks no included gearing and the parts list sets only the 20-tooth pinion in regular type, so no speed pinion is shown.
