Kyosho Inferno GT2 Race Spec

Derived is worked out from gear tooth counts the maker publishes rather than printed as a ratio; the notes below say how. Not applicable means the vehicle does not come with it, like the motor on a roller or the tires on a race kit, or does not have one, like a KV rating on a brushed motor.

Gearing parts

Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above. Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close. Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft. Linked part numbers go to the maker's or official distributor's page for that part.

How these numbers were settled

Ready-to-run nitro 1/8 GT car with a KE25SP2 engine and an automatic two-speed transmission, so KV and cell rating do not apply.

• Second gear is shown as the fitted set because it sets top speed.
• The spare parts list names the IG112-15B 15T first gear, the IG113-18B 18T second gear, the IGW008-02 43T-46T two-speed spur set, and the IF106 43T bevel gear with the IF21 13T drive bevel.
• Those tooth counts give 46/15 x 43/13 = 10.14 in first gear, matching Kyosho's printed first gear, and 43/18 x 43/13 = 7.90 in second.
• Kyosho's Technical Data for this car prints '2nd gear /7.49:1', as do the 2017 Audi R8 (33006) and 2019 Go Mango (33018) versions, but the 2018 Dodge Demon version (33008) and the Inferno GT3 kit print 7.90, which is what the listed 18T gear gives; 7.49 would need a 19T second gear.
• The Technical Data gives 'Tire (F/R) Φ97mm ×40mm'.
• The maintenance manual (p. 5) fills the front diff with No.SIL100000 and the rear with No.SIL4000 silicone oil.
• The earlier bodies (33006, 33008, 33018) list the same chassis, engine family and 97mm tire.
