Traxxas Mini Maxx BL-2s

Stock is as the vehicle ships. Calculated is worked from the stock figures on this page rather than stored beside them, so the two cannot drift apart. The top speed is kinematic: an ideal no-load RPM with no slip and no loss under load, so a real car is slower. The maker advertises 30 mph, which is their own claim on their own conditions.

Gearing parts

Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above. Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close. Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft (3 mm on the stock motor). How these numbers were settled

Traxxas's product page prints an overall drive ratio of 9.20:1, and the owner's manual gear chart (p. 24) marks the 20T pinion on the 47T spur, 9.20, as the out-of-box setup.

• The manual works the ratio as spur / pinion x 3.92, the 47/12 ring and pinion in each differential; the truck is direct drive with no center differential.
• The parts list sets the 20-tooth HD pinion (3950X) and the 47-tooth spur (10756) in regular type as stock, and both part pages list this truck as a stock fitment.
• The tire diameter is the 4 in that Traxxas prints for the stock Sledgehammer tires (10770-GRAY, 10771-GRAY), converted to 101.6mm; it is the size class Traxxas names the tire by, so treat it as approximate.
• At the included 2-cell LiPo's nominal voltage these figures work out to about 32 mph, which fits Traxxas's 30+ mph claim.
