Traxxas T-Maxx 3.3

Stock is as the vehicle ships. Calculated is worked from the stock figures on this page rather than stored beside them, so the two cannot drift apart. Derived is worked out from gear tooth counts the maker publishes rather than printed as a ratio; the notes below say how. Not applicable means the vehicle does not come with it, like the motor on a roller or the tires on a race kit, or does not have one, like a KV rating on a brushed motor.

Gearing parts

Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above. Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close. Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft. Linked part numbers go to the maker's or official distributor's page for that part.

How these numbers were settled

Nitro, so there is no KV rating or cell count and no electric speed check.

• The owner's manual says the truck is equipped from the factory with a 22-tooth clutch bell and a 58-tooth spur, and the parts list sets the wide-ratio two-speed set (18T/38T second gear) in regular type.
• The manual's gear chart marks 22T with the 58T spur and the wide-ratio set as stock, at 24.82:1 in first gear and 15.84:1 in second, which the product page rounds to '24.8:1 (1st gear) 15.8:1 (2nd gear)'.
• Second (high) gear is shown as the final drive; first gear is 24.82:1.
• The ratio after the spur in second gear works out at 15.84 x 22 / 58 = 6.01.
• The 4122 clutch bell and 3958 spur part pages list the T-Maxx 3.3 as a stock fitment.
• The tire is the Maxx tire, printed in the parts list as 6.3 in (160 mm) outer diameter.
• The parts list calls the spur both 0.8 metric pitch and compatible with 32-pitch, so no spur pitch is shown.
