Background
The RC12L3 belongs to Associated’s electric pan-car racing line. The on-road kit combined a carbon-fiber composite chassis with Dynamic Strut front suspension, a VCS Micro shock, a graphite-through rear axle and three-bolt wheel hubs. Its factory material connects the development to the RC12LC and input from the racing team. Period factory material (opens in a new tab)

Kit 4015 is the on-road version, distinct from the 4016 Oval car with its three-shock arrangement. The manual specifies a 75T differential gear but leaves the motor and pinion to the builder. Foam-tire wear changes rollout directly, so measure the fitted rear tires before choosing gearing. A shared RC12L name does not identify the correct rear hub, chassis or suspension configuration. How to read these figures
- Stock is as the vehicle ships.
- Calculated is worked from the stock figures on this page rather than stored beside them, so the two cannot drift apart.
- Derived uses recorded dimensions or arithmetic. The row explains the inference. A nominal mating size is not a measured tolerance or a complete fitment guarantee.
- Not applicable means the vehicle does not come with it, like the motor on a roller or the tires on a race kit.
- Not published means it exists but no source we could find prints it.
Build and setup
Factory setup guide for this configuration.
Measure the rear foam tires and check left-to-right consistency before adjusting rollout or chassis tweak. The spur and differential mount directly on the rear axle, so the 1:1 internal factor is derived from that construction. Match the three-bolt rear hubs and ride-height adjusters to the on-road car. The motor and pinion are selected separately, and the 4016 Oval rear suspension is a different assembly.[1] RC12L3 On Road Kit factory assembly material (opens in a new tab)

About these specs
The 1:1 internal factor is derived from the factory drawing and instructions placing the spur/differential directly on the rear axle. Motor and pinion are selected separately; measure the fitted foam tires for rollout.
