Stock is as the vehicle ships. Calculated is worked from the stock figures on this page rather than stored beside them, so the two cannot drift apart. Not applicable means the vehicle does not come with it, like the motor on a roller or the tires on a race kit, or does not have one, like a KV rating on a brushed motor. Not published means it exists but no source we could find prints it.
How these numbers were settled
The Vertex-10 runs permanent front overdrive: Redcat publishes 10.125:1 in the front axle and 12.375:1 in the rear, a 3:1 portal reduction, and 20 percent total overdrive, giving 54.64:1 front and 66.79:1 rear effective.
- Front and rear are geared differently by design, so there is no single ratio after the spur and no single final drive; both are marked not applicable, with the real numbers kept here rather than one end presented as the whole car.
- The two totals are internally consistent (54.64/10.125 = 66.79/12.375 = 5.397, the spur-plus-transmission reduction common to both ends), but Redcat does not publish the spur and pinion tooth counts, so both are unknown.
- With no single ratio after the spur, the portal reduction is not recorded separately, since it would have to be a factor of that ratio.
- The motor is a Hobbywing 2812 1700kv outrunner on a WP-10BL60-Crawler ESC, 2-4S.
- The tire is Redcat's published 4.75in = 120.65mm on 1.9in beadlocks.
- The manual's gearing table marks 14T as the stock pinion, driving the 40T half of the 40T/18T transmission gear set (RER43550) shown in the exploded view.
