Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above. Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close. Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft.
How these numbers were settled
1/8 nitro GT kit with a 2-speed gearbox; the figures are for second (high) gear.
- The manual marks the 14/18T clutch bell pinion module (#358422) and the 2-speed gears 50T (1st) and 47T (2nd) as included, and XRAY's features page names the same 47/50T spurs, 14/18T pinions and a 46T crown against a 13T diff pinion.
- The after-spur figure is worked out as 46/13 = 3.538 and the high-gear total as 47/18 x 3.538 = 9.24; first gear works out to 50/14 x 3.538 = 12.64.
- Both totals assume the centre output turns the diff pinions at gearbox output speed, as on the XB8 the car is based on; XRAY prints no ratio.
- Engine, wheels and tires are on the list of items to buy, so the tire size is left blank.
- No kit number was found on XRAY's pages.
