About XRAY

What it stands for

XRAY says its philosophy rests on "a firm commitment to perfection in engineering, design, performance and support," made possible by in-house manufacturing.8 Its cars are "designed, developed, and fully manufactured in-house at the XRAY factory in Slovakia" on German and Swiss machines.4 Chief designer Juraj Hudy traces the XB8 back to off-road cars he "designed and hand-made" in 1986.4

Known for

XRAY grew out of HUDY, Juraj Hudy's business making tools and accessories.1 The Hudy Arena serves mainly as XRAY's development track, hosts XRAY Challenge races and opens to the public for practice every Wednesday.3 The XB8's European Championship wins made it the base for the GTX8 on-road car.5 The T4 brought XRAY its first 1/10 touring car world title, and by its 2026 edition XRAY billed the XB4 as a four-time 1/10 4WD world champion.2,8

Product portfolio

XRAY's range is made up of race kits. The 1/12 X12 and 1/10 X10 are pan cars, and the X1 is a 1/10 formula car. In 1/10 touring there are the X4 and the front-wheel-drive X4F. Electric 1/10 off-road covers the XB2 2WD and XB4 4WD buggies, each in carpet and dirt versions, plus the XT2 stadium truck and XT4 truggy. In 1/8, the XB8 nitro buggy has an electric twin, the XB8E, next to the XT8 nitro truggy and the GTX8 nitro GT car.

Racing record

XRAY's first 1/10 touring car world title came after almost 20 years of trying, with Bruno Coelho and the T4'19.2 At the 2019 IFMAR 1/10 off-road World Championship, held at the Hudy Arena, Coelho won 4WD with the XB4 and Daniel Kobbevik took the 2WD and 4WD junior titles.7 By 2019 XRAY counted more than 300 national titles worldwide and 45 USA National Championship titles.2 David Ronnefalk won the 2025 European Championship with the XB4.8
