Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above. Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close. Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft (5 mm on the stock motor). Linked part numbers go to the maker's or official distributor's page for that part.
How these numbers were settled
The current Sledge, sold with belted Sledgehammer tires; it replaces the Sledge 6S (95076-4).
- The owner's manual formula is spur / pinion x 4.3 and its gear chart marks the 13-tooth pinion on the 52-tooth spur as the out-of-box setup.
- The parts list sets the 13-T pinion (6483X) and the 52-tooth spur (9652) in regular type, and both part pages list this truck as a stock fitment.
- The total is 52/13 x 4.3 = 17.2, the figure the earlier model's page printed.
- Traxxas says the belted tire has an increased diameter over the earlier Sledgehammer but publishes no figure, so the tire size is left blank.
- The 70+ mph claim is for 6S with optional gearing that is not included, so no top speed is listed.
