Background
Fast Attack Vehicle (2011) revisits Tamiya's 1984 military-style buggy. The low body, driver, roll cage, machine gun and headlights make it a scale-building project as well as a rear-wheel-drive off-roader. Camouflage markings are supplied as stickers, allowing the recognizable appearance without hand-painting every pattern. Model details (opens in a new tab).

Its ABS box chassis carries the battery low down and uses independent trailing arms at both ends. A rear gearbox contains a three-bevel differential, while booted dogbone joints carry drive to the rear wheels. The front rib tires and rear block-pattern tires are different sizes; the driven rear diameter is the relevant value for gearing calculations. Model details (opens in a new tab).
The rerelease retains friction dampers and selectable gearing rather than adopting a modern race buggy's suspension. Start a runner by checking smooth arm movement, shaft boots and the chosen gear combination. The current product page advertises a 2024 production run, but the model remains the 2011 rerelease and is separate from the 1984 original. Model details (opens in a new tab).

How to read these figures
- Stock is as the vehicle ships.
- Calculated is worked from the stock figures on this page rather than stored beside them, so the two cannot drift apart.
- Not applicable means the vehicle does not come with it, like the motor on a roller or the tires on a race kit.
- Not published means it exists but no source we could find prints it.
