Tamiya's DT-03T is the truck version of the DT-03, a 1/10 rear-motor, two-wheel-drive chassis sold as the Aqroshot kit.

It keeps the long 287 mm wheelbase and the same printed gearing, 9.28:1 with the kit's 17T pinion. Tamiya does not print the spur tooth count or the stage after it, so that total is the gearing fact to work from. The tires come with the kit rather than the chassis, so enter their size along with your pinion in the gearing tool.

Pinion The small gear on the motor shaft. Fewer teeth gear the car shorter: quicker acceleration, lower top speed and a cooler motor. More teeth do the opposite. On a chassis sold as kits, each kit brings its own. Spur The large gear the pinion drives. A bigger spur with the same pinion gears the car shorter. Pinion and spur must have the same pitch, or tooth size, to mesh. Transmission & axle Every reduction after the spur, multiplied together: transmission, differentials and axle gears. It is fixed by the design; the gearing you change is the pinion and spur. Final drive How many times the motor turns for one turn of the wheels. A higher number is shorter gearing: more acceleration and pulling power, less top speed.

How these numbers were settled

Tamiya prints 'ギヤレシオ=9.28:1' on the Aqroshot 58610, the only kit on its DT-03T chassis list, and the manual fits the kit's 17T pinion (BB9 '17T Pinion gear', step 18, PDF p. 10); that matches the DT-03's 17T 9.28:1.

The manual names the spur BG4 without a tooth count and the gearbox stage is not published, so pinion x ratio is the only gearing fact.
Tamiya calls the Aqroshot a '2WD HIGH PERFORMANCE RACING TRUCK' on the DT-03T, rear motor and rear-wheel drive, 287mm wheelbase.
