Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above. Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close. Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft. Linked part numbers go to the maker's or official distributor's page for that part.
How these numbers were settled
The Vigilante's transmission has a compound reduction gear ahead of the centre diff.
- The manual's parts list names an RER26615 '18 Tooth Steel Pinion Gear (Mod1)', an RER26716 'Gear Set (18T&46T)', an RER26717 '48T Spur Gear' on the centre diff, and in each axle an RER26811 'Ring Gear (40T)' with an RER26812 'Diff Pinion Gear (13T)'.
- The exploded view shows the 18T pinion driving the 46T side of the compound gear, whose 18T side drives the 48T spur, so 46T is recorded as the gear the pinion drives.
- The ratio after it is 48/18 x 40/13 = 8.21 and the total is 46/18 x 8.21 = 20.97.
- Later trucks ship with Redcat's CNC gear set (RER37545, RER37546, RER37547, RER37548, RER37645), which has the same tooth counts.
- The product page gives a Hobbywing 4985 1250KV motor (the older manual lists a 1200KV motor), a 160A ESC run on two 3S or two 4S packs, and 8in x 3.7in tires, printed as a 'Wheel Diameter' of 203.2mm.
- The scale is taken as 1/5 from the product title; the specification table says 'Large Scale'.
