Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above. Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close. Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft (5 mm on the stock motor). Linked part numbers go to the maker's or official distributor's page for that part.
How these numbers were settled
The first-generation Quantum XT with the MM-3660 3300KV brushless motor.
- The Quantum quick start guide lists a 13T 32DP pinion on a 5.0mm shaft for the brushless version and a 48T 32DP spur; the later 80A version (150208) guide lists the same pair.
- The quick start guide's parts list names the 40T/13T differential bevel gear set and no other reduction after the spur, so the after-spur ratio is worked out as 40/13 = 3.08; the train is read from the parts list, as no gearing diagram is printed.
- The total is 48/13 x 3.08 = 11.36.
- The kit's standard parts list names the Tredz Accelerator tire, 120x70mm (2.8in) on its part page.
- The kit page describes the MSC-30BL-WP ESC as 'capable of upto 3S'.
- The 80A version (150208) has the same gearing, motor rating, tire and 3S rating.
