Kyosho's KB10W is a 1/10 four-wheel-drive, shaft-driven monster truck chassis on a 295 mm wheelbase, sold as the Mad Wagon in kit and readyset form.

Each shares the 46T spur and a 4.30:1 bevel and ring gear stage in each axle, with a slipper clutch on the spur and no center differential. The pinion, motor and tires come with each box rather than with the chassis, so enter the pinion you run in the gearing tool and check the mesh after any change.

On a chassis sold as kits, each kit brings its own. Spur The large gear the pinion drives. A bigger spur with the same pinion gears the car shorter. Transmission & axle Every reduction after the spur, multiplied together: transmission, differentials and axle gears. It is fixed by the design; the gearing you change is the pinion and spur. This one is worked out from the tooth counts the maker publishes. Final drive How many times the motor turns for one turn of the wheels. About teeth, pitch and bore

Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above.
Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close.
Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft.

How these numbers were settled

The KB10W is sold as the Mad Wagon, as a readyset and as a kit, and the pages print 'Gear Ratio 15.22:1' and a 295mm wheelbase.

Kyosho's KB10 spares are the KB031-46 'Spur Gear 46T(M1.0/KB10)', the KB032-10 'Sintered Bevel Gear (10T/KB10)' and the KB033-43 'Sintered Ring Gear (43T/KB10)', so the ratio after the spur works out at 43 / 10 = 4.3, and with the readyset's standard 13T pinion 46 / 13 x 4.3 = 15.22, matching Kyosho's figure.
The spur carries a slipper clutch and there is no center differential.

The long-wheelbase KB10L shares the spur and axle gears and adds a center differential.
The manual lists 12T to 15T pinions for the stock spur; the ratios 16.48:1 to 13.19:1 are worked out from them with the figures above.
