Kyosho Fazer D2 FZD2

Derived is worked out from gear tooth counts the maker publishes rather than printed as a ratio; the notes below say how. Not applicable means the vehicle does not come with it, like the motor on a roller or the tires on a race kit, or does not have one, like a KV rating on a brushed motor. Not published means it exists but no source we could find prints it.

Gearing parts

Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above. Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close. Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft. Linked part numbers go to the maker's or official distributor's page for that part.

How these numbers were settled

Kyosho's Technical Data gives 'Gear Ratio 9.1:1' and a φ63×24mm tire (the line is printed as 'Tread (F/R)', but the figure is the tire size).

• The fitted gears come as one spare part, FA601 'Spur & Pinion Gear (48P/84T-24T/FZD2)', so the stock pinion is 24T and the spur 84T.
• The manual's gear ratio table (p. 30) marks 24T as standard at 9.10 and runs from 16T (13.65) to 37T (5.90).
• That table puts the ratio after the spur at 2.6 (9.10 x 24 / 84).
• The motor is the brushed 540-size G22, so there is no KV rating.
• The manual's battery page lists a 2S (7.4V) LiPo stick pack or a 7.2V NiMH pack with a Super (Deans) plug, and gives the battery space as 140 x 48 x 25mm; Kyosho does not name the ESC or print its rating.
• The same FZD2 chassis is sold with other bodies (34502T1 86 GT, 34503T1 S13) and as the FZD2L Tundra (34531T1), which Kyosho lists with the same 9.1:1 and φ63×24mm tire on a 274mm wheelbase (the FZD2's wheelbase adjusts from 240 to 274mm).
