Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above. Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close. Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft (3.175 mm on the stock motor). Linked part numbers go to the maker's or official distributor's page for that part.
How these numbers were settled
The manual's Ruckus parts diagram calls out a 17T pinion (ECX232029, '17T, 48P Pinion Gear') on the ECX1076 87T spur; the 19T pinion (ECX1073) is called out only on the Torment diagram.
- Horizon's spec table prints 19T, but the manual's Ruckus drawing is the more specific source, so 17T is used.
- The transmission and diff ratio of 2.6 is the figure Horizon prints for this family of ECX 1/10 2WD trucks (the Ruckus and Torment 2WD Brushless pages and the AMP MT kit page, where 18T on 87T is printed as a 12.6 total); this truck's manual lists the same ECX1022 transmission gear set, which Horizon sells as the gear set for all ECX 1/10 2WD models.
- The total is worked out as 87/17 x 2.6 = 13.31.
- The spec table's 4.03in (102.4mm) outer diameter is the Circuit stadium truck's figure and is too small for a 2.2in monster truck tire, so it is not used; the manual lists the ECX43008 Ruckus wheel and tire, and Horizon prints 5.3in (134.6mm) for that tire on the Ruckus 2WD Brushless page, shown here as an estimate.
- The motor is a Dynamite 15T brushed 540, which has no KV rating.
- The manual rates the 60A ESC for 2 to 3S LiPo or 5 to 9 cell NiMH.
