Specs

The Typhon 6S TLR Tuned Roller is a 1/8 four-wheel-drive race buggy roller from Arrma, with a race-tuned chassis, sold without electronics.

It carries a 50T spur and a 3.3:1 internal ratio on 118 mm tires, with 1.0 module gears and 17 mm wheel hexes. The buggy weighs 2.86 kg and is 515 mm long on a 328 mm wheelbase. You supply the pinion, so the final drive depends on your choice and the motor you fit. Match the pinion to the motor's shaft and the pack you plan to run.

How to read these figures
  • Stock is as the vehicle ships.
  • Calculated is worked from the stock figures on this page rather than stored beside them, so the two cannot drift apart.
  • Not applicable means the vehicle does not come with it, like the motor on a roller or the tires on a race kit, or does not have one, like a KV rating on a brushed motor.

About teeth, pitch and bore
  • Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above.
  • Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close.
  • Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft.

How these numbers were settled

A roller sold without a motor, ESC, servo or radio, so there is no pinion, final drive, Kv or cell rating to publish.

  • Horizon's page prints Spur Gear 50T, Gear Pitch 1.0MOD and Internal Gear Ratio 3.3, and lists LiPo Compatibility 4S, 6S, which is a chassis statement rather than a rating for an ESC, so no cell limit is recorded.
  • The tire is the dBoots Exabyte set, a standard part of this SKU on Horizon, and its own page prints an Overall diameter of 4.65 in (118mm).
  • The 50T spur is ARAC9310, also a standard part of this SKU.
  • The ready-to-run Typhon 6S TLR Tuned is a separate listing that works out to a 3.308 ratio from a 43T ring and a 13T input, close to the 3.3 printed here.
  • Big Squid RC announced this roller in September 2021.
