Background
The 144001 Driving 4WD Buggy belongs to WLtoys' small electric off-road range. The supplied 550 brushed motor runs from the included 7.4V pack. An aluminum chassis and oil-filled dampers provide a conventional serviceable off-road layout, with numbered spares available through the Japanese distributor. Hitec lists 6 November 2021 as the introduction date for its Japanese package. The package includes the vehicle, transmitter, LiPo battery, USB charging lead and hand tool. Hitec publishes a model-specific spare-parts list alongside the vehicle, which is useful when replacing suspension, drivetrain or body components. Check the complete model identifier and the equipment already fitted before choosing spares, especially when working on an imported or previously modified car. How to read these figures
- The rollout difference needs both tire diameters and axle reductions. The connection between axle inputs is not recorded, so its ability to accommodate a mismatch is unknown. These figures do not predict vehicle road speed.
- Stock is as the vehicle ships.
- Calculated is worked from the stock figures on this page rather than stored beside them, so the two cannot drift apart.
- Single report uses one outside source. It is useful as a starting figure, with the source and calculation described in the note.
- Not published means it exists but no source we could find prints it.

Select a pair to compare wheel travel per motor turn with stock. Other cells are mathematical examples, not verified gears or fits. Check pitch, mesh, clearance and motor temperature before changing parts.
Upgrades and setup
Check the 144001's existing setup before buying a brushless conversion. QuadifyRC's 2020 inspection found shocks that could not fully compress, lightly greased differentials and alignment needing adjustment. Those are observations from that author's cars, not a finding that every later 144001 needs the same repairs. Inspect your own suspension travel and alignment first.[1] QuadifyRC 144001 setup inspection and adjustments (opens in a new tab)
If a removed shock stops short of full compression, compare it with the illustrated oil-level correction instead of forcing the shaft. The same guide opens and regreases the differentials, preserving the crown-gear orientation during reassembly. Grease is the author's method for these unsealed differentials; it is not a factory silicone-fluid specification.[1] QuadifyRC 144001 setup inspection and adjustments (opens in a new tab)

Do the alignment check with the battery installed and the steering rack centered. The guide removes tight tie rods before adjusting them, rather than twisting hard enough to pop their cups off the ball studs. Check camber and front toe after restoring suspension movement. This documented setup work is a lower-cost starting point than changing the power system to compensate for an inconsistent car.[1] QuadifyRC 144001 setup inspection and adjustments (opens in a new tab)
