Background
The 104001 Match Excellent Racer belongs to WLtoys' small electric off-road range. The larger Match uses a 550 brushed motor with a cooling fan and heat sink. Its 283 mm wheelbase gives it a different service-parts identity from the smaller Driving and Explorer models. Regional product information (opens in a new tab)

Hitec introduced its Japanese Match package on 29 January 2022. The package includes the vehicle, transmitter, LiPo battery, USB charging lead and hand tool. Hitec publishes a model-specific spare-parts list alongside the vehicle, which is useful when replacing suspension, drivetrain or body components. Check the complete model identifier and the equipment already fitted before choosing spares, especially when working on an imported or previously modified car. How to read these figures
- Stock is as the vehicle ships.
- Calculated is worked from the stock figures on this page rather than stored beside them, so the two cannot drift apart.
- Single report uses one outside source. It is useful as a starting figure, with the source and calculation described in the note.
- Not published means it exists but no source we could find prints it.

Upgrades and setup
QuadifyRC's 104001 brushless build replaces the original five-wire servo as well as the motor and controller, because that servo cannot connect to a conventional receiver. The installed motor is a Racerstar 4300KV unit, despite the article also linking a Surpass combo. Plan the receiver and servo conversion with the power system.[1] 104001 budget brushless build, QuadifyRC (opens in a new tab)
Cable clearance shaped the final installation. The author rejected an arrangement too close to the rotating shaft and routed the motor leads behind the motor instead. Test body clearance with the wiring secured before driving.[1] 104001 budget brushless build, QuadifyRC (opens in a new tab)

A larger 2S shorty pack required trimming both plastic battery-holder tabs while retaining the strap. Measure the intended pack before cutting. This is a documented modification to one car, with its own gearing and electronics, rather than a blanket battery-fitment approval.[1] 104001 budget brushless build, QuadifyRC (opens in a new tab)
