Background
The 124016 Explorer Brushless 4WD Buggy belongs to WLtoys' small electric off-road range. The Japanese product page currently specifies a 4300Kv brushless system with a separate speed control. Earlier international examples were sold with different electronics, so match the motor and transmitter when ordering replacements. Regional product information (opens in a new tab)

Hitec lists a Japanese introduction date of 18 December 2021; that date describes its regional package. The package includes the vehicle, transmitter, LiPo battery, USB charging lead and hand tool. Hitec publishes a model-specific spare-parts list alongside the vehicle, which is useful when replacing suspension, drivetrain or body components. Check the complete model identifier and the equipment already fitted before choosing spares, especially when working on an imported or previously modified car. Japanese product and parts reference (opens in a new tab) The stated 75 km/h is an advertised maximum rather than a measured result.

How to read these figures
- The rollout difference needs both tire diameters and axle reductions. The connection between axle inputs is not recorded, so its ability to accommodate a mismatch is unknown. These figures do not predict vehicle road speed.
- Stock is as the vehicle ships.
- Calculated is worked from the stock figures on this page rather than stored beside them, so the two cannot drift apart.
- Part listing uses independent part specifications for an identified stock component.
- Not published means it exists but no source we could find prints it.
Upgrades and setup
In a 124016 V2 owner report, Georze found the shocks only partly filled and noted two mounting positions. That makes a damper inspection a practical first setup step: check oil fill, free movement and the current mounting holes before changing springs or power. Keep this observation with the reported V2 hardware; the separate V8 edition needs its own reference.[1] 124016 V2 owner inspection, r/rccars (opens in a new tab)
The same owner describes extra receiver sockets as reversed copies of the steering and throttle outputs, rather than independent accessory channels. Check the actual receiver before planning lights or another servo around those sockets. The thread contains conflicting battery-voltage experiences, so identify the fitted controller and follow its instructions when choosing a pack.[1] 124016 V2 owner inspection, r/rccars (opens in a new tab)
