Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above. Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close. Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft.
How these numbers were settled
Vanquish prints 'Front Axle Ratio 5.25:1, Rear Axle Ratio 6.25:1, Pinion 15T 32P, Spur 56T 32P, Overall Front Ratio 57.8:1, Overall Rear Ratio 73.4:1, Final Overdrive 24%'.
- Front and rear run different portal gears, so the rear total is used and the front is 57.8:1.
- The ratio after the spur is the rear reduction, 73.4 x 15 / 56 = 19.66.
- The rear portal reduction is 6.25 / 3.75 = 1.67, using the 8/30T ring and pinion the current version's page names.
- Tires are Vanquish's VXT2 red compound, which the VXT2 tire page prints as 4.75 in tall, so 120.65mm.
- The VM-1 motor is a 35T brushed can, so there is no KV.
- The VE-1 ESC is Vanquish's version of the Hobbywing 1060, and Vanquish states it is 3S LiPo capable.
- Green (A), silver (B), Progress Blue (C) and graphite (D) share the spec; the later C and D add HD lower links and machined ring and pinion gears.
