Gearing parts

Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above. Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close. Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft (3 mm on the stock motor). How these numbers were settled

Two-speed 6x6, shifted from the transmitter: high gear is shown as the final drive, and low gear is 79.00:1.

• The owner's manual prints two formulas (High Gear: spur teeth / pinion teeth x 6.32; Low Gear: spur teeth / pinion teeth x 15.8), and its gear charts (p. 29) mark a 9-tooth pinion with the 45-tooth spur as factory gearing, at 31.60 high and 79.00 low.
• The arithmetic matches: 45/9 x 6.32 = 31.60 and 45/9 x 15.8 = 79.00.
• The parts list (6745 9-tooth pinion and 8053 45-tooth spur in regular type), the 6745 pinion page, which lists this model as using it stock, and Traxxas's TRX-4 family comparison chart ('9 / 45 (5.00:1)') all agree.
• The manual's text says an 11-tooth pinion, a sentence carried over from the TRX-6 G63 manual; the chart and the parts list are followed.
• Tires are 2.2-inch Canyon RT: the comparison chart prints a 4.64 in (117.9 mm) outside diameter and the 8854 wheel and tire page rounds it to 4.6 in.
• The manual's text also mentions 1.9-inch Canyon Trail tires, again from the G63; the parts list and product page name the 2.2-inch Canyon RT.
• Portal axles: Traxxas publishes no portal reduction, and 2.5559 reproduces both printed constants, as on the TRX-4 sheets.
• The Titan 550 21T motor is brushed, so it has no KV; the XL-5 HV speed control is rated for 2s or 3s LiPo.
• The product page gives a 603 mm wheelbase; the comparison chart's 471 mm is measured to the intermediate axle.
