Stock is as the vehicle ships. Calculated is worked from the stock figures on this page rather than stored beside them, so the two cannot drift apart. Not applicable means the vehicle does not come with it, like the motor on a roller or the tires on a race kit, or does not have one, like a KV rating on a brushed motor. Not published means it exists but no source we could find prints it.
Gearing parts
| Component | Teeth | Pitch | Bore | Part number |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fitted at the factory | ||||
| Pinion | 19T | 48P | 3 mm | 2419 (opens in a new tab) |
| Spur | 72T | 48P | Not applicable | 8368 (opens in a new tab) |
Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above. Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close. Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft (3 mm on the stock motor). Linked part numbers go to the maker's or official distributor's page for that part.
How these numbers were settled
The owner's manual gear chart (p. 26) marks a 19T pinion on the 72T spur as the out-of-box setup for a 7-cell NiMH or 2-cell LiPo pack.
- The chart cells give only the spur-to-pinion ratio (3.79 for 19/72), while the formula above the chart multiplies it by 2.94, so the total of 11.14:1 is worked out from those figures.
- The parts list sets the 19-tooth pinion (2419) and the 72-tooth spur (8368) in regular type as stock, and both part pages list this car as a stock fitment.
- The car is rear-wheel drive with a spool.
- No optional pinion comes in the box.
- The product page prints no gear ratio.
- The motor is a brushed Titan Drift 550 (21 turns), so there is no KV rating and the no-load speed cannot be worked out.
- The XL-5 ESC is rated for 4 to 7 NiMH cells or a 2-cell LiPo.
- Two sets of 1.9 in drift tires are in the box, hard compound fitted and soft compound for smooth indoor tracks; Traxxas does not publish their outer diameter, so the tire is left blank.
- The product page prints two battery compartment heights, 23 mm or 26 mm, so the tray size is left blank.
- The Nissan 240SX version (105247-4) has the same gears, motor, ESC and tires under a different body.
