Tamiya's G6-01 is a 1/18 six-wheel-drive chassis with a monocoque frame, gears driving all three axles and double wishbone independent suspension, sold as the Konghead, the King Yellow and the Volvo A60H hauler.

Tamiya prints 18.03:1 for every kit on the stock 18T pinion. Each axle carries its own differential inside sealed gear cases that keep out sand and grit, and the suspension uses friction dampers. The pinion, motor and tires come with each kit rather than with the chassis, so enter yours in the gearing tool.

Pinion The small gear on the motor shaft. Fewer teeth gear the car shorter: quicker acceleration, lower top speed and a cooler motor. More teeth do the opposite. On a chassis sold as kits, each kit brings its own. Spur The large gear the pinion drives. A bigger spur with the same pinion gears the car shorter. Pinion and spur must have the same pitch, or tooth size, to mesh. Transmission & axle Every reduction after the spur, multiplied together: transmission, differentials and axle gears. It is fixed by the design; the gearing you change is the pinion and spur. Final drive How many times the motor turns for one turn of the wheels. A higher number is shorter gearing: more acceleration and pulling power, less top speed.

Tire diameter The outside diameter of the mounted tire, tread to tread. A taller tire covers more ground each turn, which gears the car taller. At high speed tires can balloon and grow, so the real gearing gets taller as the car goes faster.

How these numbers were settled

The G6-01 is Tamiya's six-wheel-drive chassis: a slim monocoque frame with the gear cases built in, gear drive to all three axles, a differential on each axle and double wishbone independent suspension.

The G6-01 manual fits an 18T pinion (MA7, step 12, p. 8) that drives a train of counter, idler and differential gears with no printed tooth counts, so the printed total is the only gearing fact: every G6-01 kit page prints 'ギヤレシオ=18.03：1' (Konghead 58646, King Yellow 58653, Volvo A60H 58676).
The kit pages give the axle spacing as 173mm + 126mm, so no single wheelbase is shown.
Tamiya sells the Konghead and King Yellow as 1/18 and the Volvo A60H as 1/24 on the same chassis.
The pinion, motor and tires come with each kit, so they are not part of the chassis figures: enter yours in the gearing tool.
