Background
The Grand Hauler is a 1/14-scale radio-control truck assembly kit. The model combines a detailed road-truck body with a working, remotely shifted transmission. Body details and axle layouts need to be matched to this exact numbered kit. Model and configuration (opens in a new tab).

Its ladder-frame chassis uses metal components to reproduce a full-size truck's construction. Leaf-spring suspension and rear-axle drive put the emphasis on scale hauling and careful low-speed control. The transmission changes gear through the radio, so the steering servo and shift linkage need to be set up together. Chassis and controls (opens in a new tab).
Tamiya publishes three overall reductions: 32.49:1, 17.76:1 and 10.66:1. Low gear gives slower wheel movement for maneuvering or hauling, while top gear covers more ground at the same motor speed. Set the shift servo's travel so that each gear engages cleanly before running under load. Transmission specifications (opens in a new tab).
Plan the electronics before filling the cab and chassis with extra equipment. Tamiya's optional sound-and-light control systems add scale functions, but the radio, speed control and accessory package vary by market. The international kit identity here does not include equipment shown only for a Japanese full-set package. Regional equipment notes (opens in a new tab).

- Not published means it exists but no source we could find prints it.
Build and setup
Factory setup guide for this configuration.
Set up the steering and all three transmission positions before adding loads. Keep the drivetrain free and confirm clean gear engagement with the wheels lifted first.[1] Tamiya 56344 factory reference (opens in a new tab)[2] Tamiya 56344 factory reference (opens in a new tab)
Choose the radio and speed control as a system. Lights, sound, tipping or towing accessories add their own controls and installation requirements; retain the exact kit and accessory instructions.[1] Tamiya 56344 factory reference (opens in a new tab)[2] Tamiya 56344 factory reference (opens in a new tab)
