Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above. Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close. Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft. How these numbers were settled
The brushed 2WD Vorteks stadium truck with a MEGA 550 14T motor.
- Brushed, so there is no KV.
- The Spektrum 40A brushed 2-in-1 ESC and receiver is rated for 2S LiPo or 7-cell NiMH.
- Horizon prints no gearing for this SKU.
- The 13T pinion and 61T spur come from the standard-parts list.
- Horizon's standard-parts list names the 2WD gearbox: a 15T layshaft gear driving the 47T diff through a 29T idler, so the idler cancels and the transmission ratio is 47/15 = 3.13, the figure Horizon prints for the Quake 223S on the same gearbox.
- Final drive is 61/13 x 3.13 = 14.69.
- The front dBoots Dirtrunner ST (ARA-1552) and rear dBoots Katar (ARA-1553) both print an overall diameter of 4.53 in (115mm).
