Traxxas Slash Modified BL-2s

Stock is as the vehicle ships. Calculated is worked from the stock figures on this page rather than stored beside them, so the two cannot drift apart. The top speed is kinematic: an ideal no-load RPM with no slip and no loss under load, so a real car is slower. The maker advertises 35 mph, which is their own claim on their own conditions.

Gearing parts

Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above. Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close. Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft (3 mm on the stock motor). How these numbers were settled

The owner's manual gear chart (p. 25) marks a 23T pinion on the 86T spur, 10.17:1, as stock gearing.

• The chart's figures are the spur / pinion x 2.72 of the Magnum 272R transmission, the same formula as the other 2WD Slash models.
• The parts list sets the 23-tooth pinion (2423) and the 86-tooth spur (4686) in regular type as stock, and both part pages list this truck as a stock fitment.
• The product page prints 'Gear Ratio (Internal): 9.10:1', which matches no combination in the manual, so the manual's figures are shown here.
• No optional pinion comes in the box.
• The stock Hoosier dirt oval tire is Traxxas's 10470X, which the parts list sizes at 4.3 x 1.7 in on a 2.2/3.0 in dual-profile wheel, so 109 mm.
• The BL-2s ESC is rated for a 2-cell LiPo or 6 to 7 NiMH cells.
• Traxxas quotes 35+ mph without naming the pack, which sits at the top of what this gearing gives on a fully charged 2-cell LiPo.
• The product page prints the wheelbase as 12.3 inches (333 mm), which do not match each other, and two battery compartment heights, 23 mm or 25 mm, so both are left blank.
• The Slash Late Model BL-2s (104364-74) shares this parts list, gearing chart, electronics and tires under a different body.
