Specs

Team Corally's SBX-425 is a 1/10 four-wheel-drive competition buggy kit supplied with rims for the builder's choice of tires.

The assembly manual specifies an 81T 48DP spur and a 2.5:1 internal reduction. It also provides starting oil grades for the front and rear differentials and shocks. Choose the motor, ESC, pinion and tires for your racing class, then enter the installed components when comparing gearing and rollout.

Sold without a motor, so there is no stock KV: compare gearing by rollout.

How to read these figures
  • Stock is as the vehicle ships.
  • Calculated is worked from the stock figures on this page rather than stored beside them, so the two cannot drift apart.
  • Derived is worked out from gear tooth counts the maker publishes rather than printed as a ratio; the notes below say how.
  • Not applicable means the vehicle does not come with it, like the motor on a roller or the tires on a race kit, or does not have one, like a KV rating on a brushed motor.

About teeth, pitch and bore
  • Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above.
  • Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close.
  • Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft.

How these numbers were settled

The assembly manual names an 81T spur and 35T differential gears driven by 14T bevel gears, giving a 2.5:1 internal reduction.

  • Motor, ESC, pinion and tires are selected separately.
  • The website specification table identifies the older SBX-410, so the gearing shown here comes from the SBX-425 manual.
