Background
The RC18T Factory Team kit applied Associated’s race-kit approach to a small shaft-drive four-wheel-drive truck. Its equipment included threaded aluminum shocks, blue aluminum dogbones, titanium turnbuckles, bearings and adjustable carbide-ball differentials. The factory comparison identifies it as kit 20102, distinct from the complete 20100 RTR. Period factory material (opens in a new tab)

The kit required the builder’s own micro motor, controller, radio, steering servo and six-cell micro battery pack. The RTR’s Super 370 motor and XPS controller therefore do not describe this kit’s supplied equipment. The shared RC18 instructions distinguish truck, buggy and monster-truck parts. Follow the truck and Factory Team branches when choosing suspension and electrical equipment. Factory instructions (opens in a new tab)
The truck gearing combines a 14T pinion with the standard 60T spur and a published 2.5:1 internal ratio. The resulting overall ratio is about 10.71:1. Its wheel hubs use 4 x 8 x 3mm and 8 x 12 x 3.5mm bearings. Measure the fitted tires before calculating speed, and keep the monster truck’s separate pinion choice out of the RC18T setup. How to read these figures
- Stock is as the vehicle ships.
- Calculated is worked from the stock figures on this page rather than stored beside them, so the two cannot drift apart.
- Estimated is an approximation, not a manufacturer-published specification. Motor KV and estimated performance use the linked no-load measurement for that motor family; the vehicle's motor may differ. Speed assumes the stated pack, with no load or losses.
- Single report uses one outside source. It is useful as a starting figure, with the source and calculation described in the note.
- Not applicable means the vehicle does not come with it, like the motor on a roller or the tires on a race kit.

Build and setup
Factory setup guide for this configuration.
Check the differential balls, outdrive cups and dogbone springs before increasing power. The shared instructions give the truck and buggy a 14T pinion with the standard 60T spur, while the monster truck has a separate 10T branch. Match the truck shock towers and wheel equipment, and check that the motor’s pinion lines up with the spur. Follow the Factory Team callouts when replacing the adjustable links or threaded dampers.[1] RC18T Factory Team Kit factory assembly and setup instructions (opens in a new tab)

About these specs
RC18T truck gearing: standard 60T spur and 14T B/T pinion in shared factory instructions.

- The 10T monster-truck pinion is a separate branch.
- Period pack references are not a modern LiPo rating.
- The 58 mm tire diameter is an estimate reconstructed from the manufacturer's 2009 RC18B/RC18T brushless gearing chart.
- It is a working chart reference; the original mounted tire diameter was not measured.
