Tamiya's WR-02 is a 1/10 rear-drive wheelie chassis with a sealed gearbox and differential, sold as the Wild Willy 2 kit.

Tamiya prints 18.3:1 on the kit's 18T pinion and 16.5:1 on an optional 20T, and does not publish the spur or the gear train behind them, so the pinion and those totals are the only gearing figures. The motor plate takes either pinion in its own holes. The pinion, motor and tires come with each kit rather than with the chassis, so enter yours in the gearing tool.

Drive Only one axle is driven, the rear on almost every 2WD RC car. It is lighter and simpler, and it takes more throttle control on loose ground. Build A kit you build yourself from parts. Most kits come without motor, ESC, servo, radio and battery, and many without tires or a painted body. The manual lists what to add. Scale The maker's nominal size compared with a full-size vehicle. It works more as a class label than a measurement. A 1/10 monster truck is far bigger than a 1/10 touring car, so compare length and weight for real size.

Pinion The small gear on the motor shaft. Fewer teeth gear the car shorter: quicker acceleration, lower top speed and a cooler motor. More teeth do the opposite. On a chassis sold as kits, each kit brings its own. Spur The large gear the pinion drives. A bigger spur with the same pinion gears the car shorter. Pinion and spur must have the same pitch, or tooth size, to mesh. Transmission & axle Every reduction after the spur, multiplied together: transmission, differentials and axle gears. It is fixed by the design; the gearing you change is the pinion and spur. Final drive, printed How many times the motor turns for one turn of the wheels. A higher number is shorter gearing: more acceleration and pulling power, less top speed.

Wheels & tires
Tire diameter The outside diameter of the mounted tire, tread to tread. A taller tire covers more ground each turn, which gears the car taller. At high speed tires can balloon and grow, so the real gearing gets taller as the car goes faster.

Motor Motor KV is the RPM a motor turns per volt with no load. This vehicle comes without a motor, so there is no stock KV; it depends on the one you fit. How these numbers were settled

The WR-02 is Tamiya's rear-drive wheelie chassis with a sealed gearbox and differential; the Wild Willy 2 manual cover names it ('WR-02 CHASSIS').

Tamiya publishes neither the spur tooth count nor the ratio of the gear train after it; the manual's options box (58242.pdf p. 18) prints '18T 18.3:1' (included in kit) and '20T 16.5:1' for the SP.356 pinion set, and the older WR-02 kit pages print the same 1:18.3 (58531, 58512).
Pinion and total are the only gearing facts.
Tamiya's WR-02 kit pages print a 170mm wheelbase (58531, 58512) while TamiyaBase lists 172mm and the Wild Willy 2 page prints none, so no wheelbase is given.
Wild Willy 2 is a standard product in Tamiya's status file; the Jimny and Volkswagen Type 2 wheelie kits (58576, 58531, 58512) are pre-2015 spot re-runs and the XB and SA built-up versions (57743, 57985) are left off.
