MST RMX 2.5 RTR (Brushless)

Gearing parts

Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above. Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close. Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft (3.175 mm on the stock motor). Linked part numbers go to the maker's or official distributor's page for that part.

How these numbers were settled

Rear-wheel drive drift car, fitted with a 22T 48P pinion on an 80T 48P spur, 10.91 overall.

• The manual's gear chart for the 80T spur (p. 7) gives the ratio after the spur as the 60T differential gear over the 20T main shaft gear, 3.00, and shades the 22T cell at 10.91.
• The parts pages (p. 12) list one 22T pinion (148022P) and the 80T spur (230068), and the original-setting setup sheet (p. 15) writes 80 over 22 times 3 as 10.91.
• The same manual covers the brushed version.
• The motor is the XBL 2500Kv on a 3.175mm shaft and the ESC is the XBL50 with a T-style plug; the cell rating of that ESC is not published by the maker's distributors, and the product page lists a 2S LiPo or 6-cell NiMH pack.
• AMain describes the pinion as fitting a 3.17mm motor shaft.
• The manual shows MST CS-R tires, whose outer diameter is not published.
• The manual recommends a shorty pack within 96 x 47 x 25.5mm.
• The rear uses a ball differential, and the setup sheet lists shock oil as #10 without a unit.
• Body and colour versions share this chassis and electronics.
