Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above. Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close. Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft. Gearing in the box is supplied, not fitted: the fitted set is what the figures and the calculators use. Linked part numbers go to the maker's or official distributor's page for that part.
How these numbers were settled
A 1/24 rear-drive buggy.
- The kit page's technical specification prints 'Standard gearing 12T/45T', 'Internal transmission ratio: 3.4', a 35mm rear and 33mm front outer tire diameter, and optional 11T and 13T pinions and a 42T spur included in the box.
- The total is worked out as 45/12 x 3.4 = 12.75; the tallest boxed combination, 13T on 42T, gives 10.98.
- The rear tire is used, as the rear wheels are driven.
- The MS-030 63T motor is brushed and has no KV rating.
- It ships with a 7.4V 350mAh LiPo, but no rating is published for the 2-in-1 ESC, so the cell count is left blank.
