Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above. Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close. Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft. How these numbers were settled
Nitro 1/8 on-road ARR with a two-speed transmission: a 15T/19T two-speed pinion (85149) on the clutch drives 48T and 44T spurs (85041), all Mod 1.
- The manual (step 30) puts the 48T spur on the first-gear housing and the 44T on the second, so second gear is 19T on 44T, shown here as the stock gearing, and first gear is 15T on 48T.
- The front and rear differentials use a 43T crown gear and a 13T pinion (85111, 87028), a ratio after the spur of 3.31:1 worked out from the tooth counts.
- That gives 7.66:1 in second gear and 10.58:1 in first; Hobao prints no ratio.
- The ARR comes without engine, muffler, air filter, body, wheels or tires, so the tire does not apply.
- The front differential is filled with #500K silicone oil and the rear with #50K; the shocks use #600 oil, a grade with no unit, so it is left blank.
- Optional two-speed pinion pairs run from 14T/18T to 20T/24T.
