Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above. Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close. Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft. Linked part numbers go to the maker's or official distributor's page for that part.
How these numbers were settled
The center spool carries a 34T Mod 1 spur (85137) with an 8mm bore; Hobao says spurs up to 48T fit.
- The front and rear differentials use a 43T crown gear and a 13T pinion (85111, 87028), so the ratio after the spur is 3.31:1, worked out from the tooth counts; a 40T/15T set (OP-0146, OP-0147) is optional.
- The ARR is sold without motor, speed control, pinion, wheels, tires, body, servo or radio, so the pinion, total ratio and tire do not apply.
- The front differential is filled with #500K silicone oil and the rear with #50K; the shocks use #600 oil, a grade with no unit, so it is left blank.
- Hobao's drawing, headed Extreme VTE2 2.0, gives a 413mm wheelbase and 2540g; the 1/8 Extreme VTE2 8 has the same drivetrain on a 360mm wheelbase.
