Specs

The RR10 Bomber RTR is a ready-to-run 1/10 four-wheel-drive rock racer from Axial with a brushed Axial 35T motor and a Dynamite AE-5L Waterproof, 3S LiPo Capable ESC.

A 12T pinion on a 64T spur, through a 5.67:1 internal ratio, gives a 30.22:1 final drive, quicker than a crawler but still gentle on the motor. The truck weighs 2.83 kg, is 569 mm long on a 375 mm wheelbase and runs 12 mm wheel hexes. The ESC takes up to 3S. Pinions are 32P, so a one-tooth change is an easy way to adjust speed.

How to read these figures
  • Stock is as the vehicle ships.
  • Calculated is worked from the stock figures on this page rather than stored beside them, so the two cannot drift apart.
  • Derived is worked out from gear tooth counts the maker publishes rather than printed as a ratio; the notes below say how.
  • Not applicable means the vehicle does not come with it, like the motor on a roller or the tires on a race kit, or does not have one, like a KV rating on a brushed motor.
  • Not published means it exists but no source we could find prints it.

About teeth, pitch and bore
  • Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above.
  • Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close.
  • Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft.

How these numbers were settled

Horizon's page prints Pinion 12T, Spur Gear 64T and Gear Pitch 32-Pitch but no ratio.

  • The manual's gear chart for the stock 38T/13T transmission gears (p. 11) gives 30.22 for a 12T pinion on a 64T spur, and its formula (Spur/Pinion) x 5.67 agrees, so 30.22 is the total used here and the 5.666 ratio after the spur is worked out from it.
  • No tire diameter is published on Horizon's page or on Axial's own product page, so it is left blank.
  • The manual's ESC specification gives the input as 2 to 3 cell LiPo, so 3 cells is the limit.
  • The motor is a brushed Axial 35T, so there is no Kv figure.
  • The manual's parts list gives the 64T spur as AX31065 and a 12T 32DP pinion as AX30723.
  • Big Squid RC reported the updated RR10 Bomber 2.0 under part number AXI03016 in April 2020.
