Specs

The Kraton 8S EXB Roller is a 1/5 four-wheel-drive monster truck roller from Arrma, sold without a motor, speed control, servo or radio.

It carries a 47T spur and a 9.06:1 internal ratio on 211 mm tires, with 1.0 module gears and 24 mm wheel hexes. A second spur with fewer teeth comes in the box for taller gearing. The truck weighs 10.6 kg and is 771 mm long, with room for a pack up to 170 mm long. You supply the pinion and motor, so the final drive depends on those choices.

How to read these figures
  • Stock is as the vehicle ships.
  • Calculated is worked from the stock figures on this page rather than stored beside them, so the two cannot drift apart.
  • Not applicable means the vehicle does not come with it, like the motor on a roller or the tires on a race kit, or does not have one, like a KV rating on a brushed motor.

About teeth, pitch and bore
  • Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above.
  • Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close.
  • Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft.

How these numbers were settled

A roller sold without a motor, ESC, servo or radio, so there is no pinion, final drive, Kv or cell rating to publish.

  • Horizon's page prints Spur Gear as 47T and 39T included, Gear Pitch 1.0 MOD and Internal Gear Ratio 9.06, and its feature list calls the 47T the fitted spur and the 39T the optional one, so the 47T spur (ARA310920, a standard part of this SKU) is the one recorded.
  • Final Drive Ratio is printed only as a range, 9.1 - 28.4, that depends on the pinion fitted.
  • The tire is the dBoots Copperhead2 MT pair, a standard part of this SKU on Horizon, and its own page prints an Overall diameter of 8.31 in (211mm).
  • Horizon prints Top Speed 55+, which depends on the motor and pack fitted, so it is not recorded.
  • Big Squid RC announced this roller in March 2021.
