Specs

The Tenacity-T is Losi's 1/10 four-wheel-drive truggy, sold ready to run with a Dynamite Fuze 3800Kv brushless motor and a Fuze 130A waterproof speed control.

A 14T pinion on a 40T spur with 3.89:1 inside the transmission gives a final drive of 11.1:1. On a 3S pack that works out to about 54 mph on 120.6 mm tires. The manual tells 3S owners to fit the 12T pinion in the box, so swap it in before the first 3S run and check that the motor does not run hot.

How to read these figures
  • Stock is as the vehicle ships.
  • Calculated is worked from the stock figures on this page rather than stored beside them, so the two cannot drift apart.
  • The top speed is kinematic: an ideal no-load RPM with no slip and no loss under load, so a real car is slower.

About teeth, pitch and bore
  • Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above.
  • Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close.
  • Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft.

How these numbers were settled

Losi's page and manual give a 14T pinion on a 40T spur with a 3.89:1 transmission, and the printed 11.1:1 final drive is what those figures work out to.

  • The manual says the fitted 14T pinion is for 2S and tells 3S owners to fit the 12T pinion in the box, which is a lower ratio, not a taller one.
  • The tire is the 4.75 in (120.6 mm) outer diameter in Losi's spec table.
  • The 3800Kv Dynamite Fuze motor and 130A speed control take 2S or 3S packs, so the cell count is 3.
  • Losi's claim of 50+ mph on 3S is footnoted as needing optional gearing, so it is not used as a stock speed.
