Losi Super Rock Rey 1/6 4WD Brushless Rock Racer RTR w/AVC

How these numbers were settled

From Losi's spec table on the LOS05016T2 page: Pinion 16T, Spur Gear 37T, Final Drive Ratio 9.76:1, Outer Diameter 7.0in (177.8mm), 750Kv Dynamite Fuze brushless motor, up to 8S LiPo.

• The same page also lists an 'Internal Gear Ratio' of 4.88:1, which is inconsistent with the published pinion and spur: 37/16 x 4.88 = 11.28, not 9.76, a miss of about 15%.
• A top-speed check using the published 9.76 final drive, KV, cell count and tire gives 750 x 29.6V (8S nominal) / 9.76 x pi x 0.1778m / 60 x 2.237 = about 47 mph, close to Losi's marketed '50-55+ mph'.
• On that basis 9.76 is taken as the correct final drive, and the transmission and axle ratio is back-derived as 9.76 / (37/16) = 4.22 instead of using Losi's inconsistent 4.88.
• The figures are graded verified because the top-speed check independently corroborates them.
• Losi has since released a Super Rock Rey V2 (LOS05016V2) with Spektrum Firma rather than Dynamite Fuze electronics; whether its gearing or tire differ from V1 is unconfirmed, so it is not listed separately.
• This remains unresolved.
