Specs

The Senton 3S BLX is a ready-to-run 1/10 four-wheel-drive short course truck from Arrma, with a BLX3660 3200Kv brushless motor and a BLX100 ESC 2S/3S.

A 20T pinion on a 57T spur, through a 2.85:1 internal ratio, gives an 8.12:1 final drive and about 56 mph on 3S with 110 mm tires; Arrma quotes 50+ mph. The truck takes an IC5 plug and runs 14 mm wheel hexes. The ESC also accepts 2S, which is slower and easier to control while you learn the truck.

How to read these figures
  • Stock is as the vehicle ships.
  • Calculated is worked from the stock figures on this page rather than stored beside them, so the two cannot drift apart.
  • The top speed is kinematic: an ideal no-load RPM with no slip and no loss under load, so a real car is slower.
  • The maker advertises 50 mph, which is their own claim on their own conditions.

About teeth, pitch and bore
  • Tooth counts are the ones in the specifications above.
  • Pitch is given as metric module (Mod 1, Mod 0.8) or diametral pitch (32P, 48P). They are different standards and are not interchangeable, even where the numbers look close.
  • Bore is the pinion’s hole, listed separately from the motor shaft.

How these numbers were settled

Horizon's page prints Pinion 20T, Spur Gear 57T, Gear Pitch 0.8 Module and Internal Gear Ratio 2.85:1 but no final drive, so the 8.123:1 total is worked out: 57 / 20 x 2.85.

  • The tire is the dBoots Fortress, and the same table prints its Outer Diameter as 4.33 in (110mm), larger than the 104 mm shown for the later Senton 3S BLX V3.
  • The feature list names the BLX3660 3200Kv motor and the BLX100 ESC 2S/3S with an IC5 plug, so 3 cells is the limit.
  • Arrma claims 50+ mph; 3200Kv on 3S at 8.123:1 on 110 mm tires gives about 56 mph at nominal voltage, so the claim sits at roughly nine tenths of the theoretical figure.
  • Big Squid RC announced the Senton 4x4 BLX in July 2018 under part number AR102668, and RC Car Action's page for that launch now lists it as ARA102721T1.
  • The gear part numbers are not named for this SKU, so only the 0.8 module pitch is recorded.
