This replaces the transmission gears and top shaft with a matched metal-gear package. It is an option when renewing the gearbox's internal components, retaining the compatible housing and setting the slipper and gear mesh after assembly.

Installation notes

  • Use the complete 72106 matched metal-gear and hardened-topshaft package. Retain the transmission housing and other serviceable parts identified in the vehicle instructions.
  • Apply a small amount of Associated 6588 or 6636 grease to the gear teeth. They are alternative lubricants; both are not needed.
  • Set the slipper and gear mesh after assembly. Keep the vehicle's existing electronics and battery limits.
