Installation notes
- Use one complete 22048 set. It supplies the 70T spur, pressure plates, two slipper pads, shaft, spring, nut, joint cup, axle ring, pin and two 1280 bearings. Service pieces pictured inside the kit are not extra purchases.
- Remove the fixed center spur/shaft assembly and install the complete clutch in its place. Retain the chassis propeller shafts and center housing. Insert the shafts into the narrow cup openings as shown.
- Use the supplied kit-style 2 mm hex wrench to adjust the slipper. The instructions exclude the separately sold 42146 hex screwdriver because its tip may be damaged. Initial standard position is the illustrated 2.3 mm dimension.
- Choose this slipper or the 22049 plus 22050 center differential. The two mechanisms cannot occupy the center position together. The slipper limits transmitted torque; it does not add differential action between front and rear shafts.
- Loosening the adjustment permits more slip. Continuous running with a loose clutch can overheat and damage the spur; verify adjustment after changes rather than treating free slip as a fault in the motor or axle differential.
