Background
TA05 is a two-belt four-wheel-drive touring chassis with front and rear ball differentials, full ball bearings and CVA super-mini oil dampers. The exact 58345 kit manual shows the Type 540 motor, racing tires and wheels as part of the chassis assembly, while the radio equipment, controller and battery are separate. Factory reference (opens in a new tab).

A 70T spur and supplied 22T pinion use 0.6 Mod teeth. The gearing chart prints the 2.25:1 internal reduction and a 7.16:1 final ratio for that combination. Its belt-tension adjustment uses the orientation of the bearing supports, so moving the supports is a mechanical setting rather than an arbitrary tightening step. Factory reference (opens in a new tab).
The manual also illustrates reversible suspension parts, stabilizers and universal-shaft options. Those drawings identify conditional changes rather than proof that every used TA05 has the same hop-ups installed. Before restoring or racing one, establish which suspension arms, shafts and gearing are present, then choose bodywork, tires and electronics that match the intended class. How to read these figures
- Stock is as the vehicle ships.
- Calculated is worked from the stock figures on this page rather than stored beside them, so the two cannot drift apart.
- Derived uses recorded dimensions or arithmetic. The row explains the inference. A nominal mating size is not a measured tolerance or a complete fitment guarantee.
- Not applicable means the vehicle does not come with it, like the motor on a roller or the tires on a race kit.
- Not published means it exists but no source we could find prints it.

Select a pair to compare wheel travel per motor turn with stock. Other cells are mathematical examples, not verified gears or fits. Check pitch, mesh, clearance and motor temperature before changing parts.
Build and setup
Factory setup guide for this configuration.
The standard 70T spur and 22T pinion give the factory chart's 7.16:1 final ratio. Use the printed 2.25 internal stage when comparing alternatives. If changing to the optional 0.4 Mod system, replace the mating gears as a matching system and choose the ratio for the motor.[1] Exact factory assembly and setup manual (opens in a new tab)
Check both belt tensions using the bearing-support positions shown on the setup page. Excessively loose belts can skip or come off. The illustrated stabilizer and reversible-arm options require their own assembly changes, so compare the fitted suspension with those drawings before ordering a conversion.[1] Exact factory assembly and setup manual (opens in a new tab)
