TA02 factory carbon-deck conversion

Tamiya TA02

The 47479 set replaces the plastic TA02 tub with carbon upper and lower decks, moves the electronics lower and supplies matching shock towers. It keeps the existing drivetrain, but requires a substantial chassis rebuild and the correct linkage branch.

Factory instructions document this mechanical conversion. Retain the stated original parts and observe the fitted electronics limits; no measured performance gain is claimed.

Installation notes

  • Buy the full 47479 set. The manual includes J-parts, steering mount, spacers and screws; loose carbon plates alone are not the complete conversion. Retain kit gearboxes, propeller shaft, suspension and appropriate radio equipment.
  • Use the exact kit manual alongside 47479. Page 2 gives different TA02S and TA02T steering linkages. TA02T requires checking tire/body clearance and adjusting damper rubber tubing. No TA01 conversion is implied.
  • Follow the changed servo-saver orientation and electronics placement; retain clear steering movement before tightening. Trim damper stays only where the instructions identify interference.
  • Install the supplied battery-holder assembly and secure wiring clear of the gears. Battery chemistry and ESC limits remain those of the fitted equipment. Body-specific clearance is not established by this generic TA02 reference.
